Uh, GATORS? You live in the wrong state.

Pools on rocks... you mean surrounded by gravel or something, right, not sitting up on rocks.

So, how do I know a good gosling or breeder from another??

Yep gators, we have a 3 footer in the lake out front, and 10 footer down the road at the park. It's part of living in Florida.

Yes if you make a drain field of rounded pebbles and set the pool atop them they don't have dirt right there and when you dump the water it washes away through the gravel and doesnt make a washed out area they may want to play in. Most of ours are not set up like this currently. 2 are and are much nicer to clean.

If you are wanting to buy local, visit the seller and go with your gut, not with the oh it's so cute.

Buying online, ask around. Email or PM and ask who others reccomend, how their buying experience was and the birds they received.

Apparently pennies after 1982 are zinc w/ a thin copper coating-- bad for fish, but real copper (pre1982) is ok. I didn't know how the metal might effect the geese but thought where chix are smaller and they live then it might be alright but I'm not chancing my geese to find out. Does anyone use this method??

Oxine or apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) both work well here in FL for us to battle the green growth. We are warm year round and in the summer if the water isn't treated literally by afternoon after a morning cleaning they can be growing.
