I ordered 8 French Black Copper Marans and 4 Ameraucanas. I got 7 live FCBM and 4 Ameraucanas.
There is one Ameraucana that may not make it. I would like to do everything I can for it. I got it to take drops of sugar water but it still won't eat. I isolated it the brooder under the heat lamp in a little box with the grow gel, a tiny thing of sugar water and some starter mash. It's near the other ones but cannot get trampled. He was cheeping loudly at one point and his little butt looked a bit funky so I just washed him down with a little cloth and put it in about an inch of warm water. It got the gunk off and he pooped quite a bit after that. It still won't eat or drink on its own.
So besides trying to find someone who wants one Ameraucana (not the sick one) and three FBCM chicks, I'm trying to save my little patient.
Any suggestions are welcome. It's a bittersweet thing since I've lost one already and it looks like this guy may not make it.
I can post photos if anyone wants to see and can post photos of my little Ameraucana patient for suggestions. I think they a couple of days old at least since they are already getting little feathers on the bottom of their wings. Maybe someone has a theory on exactly how old they are.
