Juniper soared high above the clouds; so much that she could skim the tops of the cotton-like poofs with her talons. The tips of her wing feathers fluttered as the wind curved under and over them. The air this far up was thin and contained little oxygen, but her respiratory system was developed to gain as much oxygen from each breath so she could reach high altitudes without ill effects. Juniper suddenly dived down to a lower altitude so she could scan the land below. Her sharp eyes caught the movement of a lone deer.

Perfect.

Juniper took another dive, folding her wings tightly against her body and began to reach out with her talons. The deer spied her and started to dart away. Juniper was getting lower and lower, until she smacked into the deer and tumbled onto the ground with her prey struggling in her talons. The deer breathed its last breath as Juniper killed it with a swift bite to the neck, her pointed beak ripping into it.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

(What season and time of day is it?)

Juniper ripped off pieces of meat delicately with her beak and swallowed them with gusto. She ate hurriedly though, as the smell of blood would readily attract scavengers.

I honestly have no clue. I think it should be late spring or summer

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

(Maybe someone's hungry character will approach Juniper? wink.png)

Juniper kept eating, plucking off the fur and scattering it into clumps surrounding her kill.
