Connie saying Hi

Hey I am new to all this Chicken stuff but I am really loving it.  We are just starting so we only have 3.  1 Dominique Rooster DH loves Dominiques and we have 2 Barred Rock Hens.  They are not laying many eggs and will not sit on them at all.  But we love it alot.  The kids love going to see if we have new eggs.  Love the website it has taught me a lot so far.

I am a wife and a mother to 1 son, 2 daughters, 2 step sons, 3 step daughters.

 

I currently have Two Barred Rock Hens and 1 Dominique Roo

and 6 baby barred rock/dominique mix and 1 Black Sex Link Jersey Giant.

2nd hatch date  7/23  I have a lot late on this hatch.

3rd hatch date   7/24  I think a lot are going to be late with the rest due to still air incubator.

4th hatch date   7/26

Always calibrate your hygrometer before you incubate!!

How old are your hens? Sometimes as they get a bit older the laying can become a little sporadic.
Oh, and if you want broody hens, you should consider silkies tongue.png

I don't know how old the hens are.  We got them from friends and they never said how old they were.  Thanks I love this site it has helped alot.  My friend is over my shoulder laughing at me right now....LOL
