I have a great fascination for the adorable call ducks. I was wondering if anyone has any information/pictures of them. I read somewhere that they are easily tamed, but that they are hard to raise/breed.

Call Ducklings are a bit more fragile than other breeds. Also some people have trouble incubating them themselves. As for raising it's not much different than other breeds except for the fact they can fly very well.

They are very easily tamed, not at all hard to raise, but yes, they are hard to hatch. Fertile eggs aren't a problem, getting them to hatch can be. Especially if they are good quality with short beaks and necks. Mine are very friendly. I dont clip their wings and they run around my yard all day. I only lock them up at night. They're really no harder to raise than a mallard.

I suppose the mom calls aren't very broody? Why are they so hard to hatch in an incubator?
I have a call hen on a nest full of rocks

. She'll go broody on anything including other peoples eggs she steals.
