Thompson Seedless grapes, raisins & yogurt not to mention live meal worms!  LOL

My blog: nativefloridagirl.blog.com  3 Hens in the Sierra Nevada Mountains  1 Barred Rock-Mabel, 2 RIR's Pearl & Mildred live in Coop de Clucks and they have a play pen in addition and now that we've moved to the mountains they live in a new fortress. Chicken math has struck me and we have nine fertile eggs coming 5/20/13 for my broody, Mabel, to hatch.  We also have 1 lab/german shepherd mix...

thanks to Oldchick, now mine love french fries and double cheeseburgers from McDonalds.gig.gif

I looked at all the caged animals in the barn...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal. And I was angry."God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, "I have done something," he replied.  "I created you."

When my hens feel a little pecky and mean, I give them little bits of peanut butter w/ syrup mixed up, and dip it in a little Apple Cider Vinegar! Calms them down and they really LOVE it!! (:

Stories from long ago....My Italian grandparents always had chickens and they always got table scraps. Things I remember tossing to them as a kid...lobster shells and burnt lemon sponge cake.

I LOVE the sounds they make when a new food source is introduced, kinda a chicken purr.

P.S. I work at a small animal vet. We also do boarding for dogs and cats. Any dry food the boarders turn there nose up at, gets saved in a bucket and taken to feed the chickens. ( Better not tell the chickens they're eating their brothers and sisters only processed! )

You bet! Right before I put the ACV in I sneak little bits big_smile.png
Apple cider vinegar is very healthy for them, so why not mix it with peanut butter?
