number 3.jpg Not a good picture, but it is one of the biggest in the flock and always fights with the other chick that seems like a rooster too. Its comb is about 1/2 an inch tall and has 1/4 an inch long wattles. let me know what you think

How old? KIND of looks like a pullet, but I have no experience!

I have 2 EEs, 2 barred plymouth rocks, 1 black australorp, a crazy jap bantam, a buff brahma chick and a speckled sussex chick! Plus 4 foster chicks, 2 EEs, a speckled sussex, and a dark brahma! Oh, and 1 lovable standard poodle!

looks like a young splash roo  how old

silkies and (projects), sumatras, lakenvelders, frizzles, polish and (projects), sultans, buff orps, black sexlinks, turkeys, red golden pheasents, Peepers, dogs, cats, fish, horses, wild kids, and one very understanding DH, come on over for a visit to the crazy farm

Turned 8 weeks old today. its a lavender orpington. Hatched it

If he's eight weeks, I'd say he's a roo. Hens may start showing red at this age, but the comb and wattles on a hen shouldn't be that big at only two months.

My Buff had big comb and wattles at a young age and its a hen.

It depends on the breed of chicken, and also on each individual chicken even if they're in the same breed.

but this one fights with the other roosters, unlike the pullets
