ok on friday my chicks will be officially two weeks old. 8 out of my nine are pretty friendly, some more than others but i think that's normal. The problem is that one of them is absolutely terrified of me (well she's terrified of everyone). But i handle the chicks as much as possible and im with them multiple times a day refilling their food and water and they are all comfortable eating out of my hands... is there anything i can do to help her warm up to me and people in general?

Is she a different breed as the rest? I wouldn't worry too much... each chicken has its own temperment. I'm noticing this as I watch several of my hens that are even of the same breed. I have some very flighty ones that won't even come up and take a treat from my hand, and others that follow me around the yard while talking to me. Just keep giving her tasty treats and handling her, and she'll get more accustomed to it. The main reason our chickens come up to us is because they recognize us as the source of deliciousness, anyway.

thanks! her feathers are a little different from the rest but its still a little early to tell i think but i wont give up on her and hopefully she'll come around

They all come around once they go outside and figure out the big thing that comes around always has treats. I have to watch were I walk sometimes because they get underfoot when I'm walking around in the backyard.

I shamelessly bribe any skittish animals with treats and eventually they come around ;) shredded cheese, yogurt, and cooked oatmeal are the favorites around here with chicks and adults alike. Try to get them to eat out of your hand eventually, but you'll have to set the treats in a less threatening place at first.

i've heard people say a lot that yogurt is good with chicks... is there any specific type i should try?

Mine eat anything from plain greek yogurt to the dessert-like types... I just give them whatever I have in the fridge. They do seem to like the slightly sweeter stuff a little better though. Much more peeping while they eat it.

:) thanks! but giving them like dessert flavored yogurt wont hurt them? this is my very first hatch so im terrified of screwing this up! im pretty sure i have greek yogurt i might try that first and see how it goes... thanks!

I would stay away from anything that has extra sugar or is sweetened with artificial sweeteners. They don't need that. Just plain yogurt or greek yogurt plain would be great. Mine really like this and have had it from week 2.
