The Purina Mills Game Bird line includes animal protein in the Startena and Layena. The Flight Conditioner and Maintenance don't. Have tags from three years ago - no change.

The Flight Conditioner does/did have Animal Proteins in it. I have a tag right in front of me that I got off a bag at the mill because I wanted to see what was or wasn't in it.

We should all keep in mind that Purina uses regional mills. It's entirely possible that they are using different ingredients from one another even for the same feed types. They've always been maddeningly vague as to their precise ingredients.

My Flight Conditioner certainly did contain animal protein. I always check the labels because I know how these companies operate, sneaking in their changes on the customers quietly, most of the time. My last label did say animal protein.

Could be it's regional, but that makes NO sense. Animals' needs are the same for each age and function, no matter where they live.

Actually they very by climate, a bird in FL needs less carbs and more protein according to UF agricultural research.

Should be there somewhere I cannot remember the title...

The diets between Coastal Alaskan and Coastal Floridian Bald eagles are different, the Alaskan eagles will feed on crop/stomach contents more often then Fl Eagles ... suggested the same reason. And interior nested birds preferring fish, with Coastal birds preferring mammals in winter. http://www.epa.gov/region1/ge/thesite/restofriver/reports/final_era/B%20-%20Focus%20Species%20Profiles/EcoRiskProfile_bald_eagle.pdf  (sorry the other study is locked to JU and UF students, I 'm alum and cannot post the link)

The chickens in FL may need less Carbs but they still need Animal Protein.

Chris, that is interesting. Please post the tag, I'd like to call and get that variant to our feedstore. (we never use the medicated `pheasant starter' or the finisher - so, no collected info on those).

Latest Flight Conditioner tag: (Price 08/05 - $11.10, 04/12 - $16.86)

Other than price, only real change, here, has been th color/format of tags: Startena (price 06/05 - $12.35, 05/12 - $17..75)
