Hard Boiling eggs that are already cracked, ok??

So I have a bunch of eggs in the fridge where the shells are slightly cracked, most of them just like a hairline crack.  Would there be okay to hard boil??

Thanks!

I would think not, just because some water will leak into the egg, or some of the egg white or yolk will seep out in to the boiling water.

That's a good point...  Just wasn't sure if it was any different than an egg that cracks while it's boiling...

why don't you make a scramble eggs instead of hard boiled egg.

Wouldn't boiling them kill anything that would be dangerous?

Or is the concern that they might not be cooked fully through the yolk? If it is 'only' that, maybe it is safe to 'over boil' them until the yolks are quite firm/dry and use for egg salad sandwhiches?

I wouldn't let eggs with cracked shells sit around very long, but if they are really fresh, they should be OK to hard boil.
