.....than thier larger counterparts?  I was told that they mature alot slower.

1 Blue JG and 1 Black JG, 1 black Americauna, 1 penciled Americauna, 1 Penciled Rock.  1 Cornish chick, 5 Sussex, 8 mix chicks, and one wild kitty!

10 meaties on the way, 2 red layers and 10 in the incubator.  Chicken Math strikes again!

The Rooster may crow, but it is the Hen that delivers the goods!

My experience is limited, but if anything mine have been maturing quite a bit more rapidly than the standards do.  At least as far as the roos are concerned.  We're still short of egglaying age, and I plan to use that as a more definitive measure of maturity for the banties overall.

Ok thanks!!  I was wondering if it was true or not, I thought they would mature faster because of the size.

They mature faster...I had a serama pullet lay her first egg at 13 weeks!!  And she continued laying from that day forward.

From what I can tell so far, with Modern Game Bantams, they also mature faster than large fowl. My 11 week old cockerel is crowing, and the same age pullets are looking pretty red in the face already. I'm thinking nest boxes all around this weekend. (yeah...I don't have any in my runs yet LOL!)
