I think they are both girls. I have barred rocks that look just like this, except I'm pretty sure at least one is a rooster because he has started crowing. The only difference i see, is my chicks have WAY bigger combs and they are just 10 weeks old. The one i thought was a girl is the one I think is crowing and the one i thought was a boy hasn't crowed at all... WHO KNOWS!! :)
I am guessing she was just a super early comb bloomer then LOL. that comb was the same size and bright red from about 9-10 weeks. it hasn't changed since. (she is a dominique, not a barred rock to anyone wondering)... so I thought for sure we had a rooster on our hands. But Melon is super sweet and friendly and I can't wait to see what happens next haha. I NEED to see an egg! :) :)
1 Buff Orpington, 2 Cinnamon Queens, 4 Silkie, 2 dominiques, 2 black sex links, 3 EE's, and 2 Welsummers
