I know I'm beautiful, but pullet or cockerel?

Looks just like Big Ben, but, at the same age, smaller in general, smaller and not as red a comb, no brown or rust anywhere, and legs a little smaller and darker wash. Is there even a chance I'm a girl??

There's always a chance, but I think that's a cockerel. hide.gif

Right! That's why I stay so confused! I so want HER to be the right call, but I just don't know yet. She looks so different from my all-black Ameraucana pullet, with the almost non-existent comb, and compared to her male counter part she's definitely different, but not enough so that I can be convinced yet. Arrrggghh!!!!

My uncle has had hens with abnormally large combs before but ... I dunno, you might have a cockerel.

You have any other pictures of her? Or does she have curling tail feathers? Hard to tell in the picture.

Tail feathers are pretty short right now, so it's hard to tell what they are really going to do. SHE sticks by her male counterpart pretty closely and I've never noticed any stare-downs, raised hackels, etc., showing typical cockerel behavior toward anyone else, and no crowing yet. Can someone tell me if Ameraucanas are typically pretty docile and sweet, whether pullet or cockerel?
