Northwest Newbie

Thread Starter

Greetings~

 I am Mama2D2 (Sara). I have 13 hens and 2 Roosters.

2 Dark Brahmas- Leia and Fiona

1 Maran (used to have two, but the dog killed her)- Redfoo

1 Silver Lakenvelder- Lady Gaga

1 Ancona- Jellybean (she is queen bee and the chick in on my avatar)

1 Silver Laced Wynadotte- Dori

2 Amerucana's- Beep and Boop

1 Arucana- Aunt Kimmie

1 Barred Rock- Tulah

1 Black Jersey Giant- Whitney Houston

1 Welsummer- Mrs. David Beckham

1 Black Silkie- Snooki

1 Serama Rooster- Jaque Le Cock aka Darth Cluckius

1 Cochin Rooster (Bantam)- Ckicken Little aka 5 piece

The first 6 listed are 15 weeks old the rest are varying ages from 8 -14 weeks.

I am totally addicted to my ladies and roo's. Love them! Never thought I would care so much for chicken but have been fallen smitten with each and everyone of them.

Hubby built the coop from scrap and recycled material- Coop de Poop. Pictures to come soon enough.

We free range during the day when I am here and get closed up tight at night from predators. We leave our Giant black Lab/Hound mix outside at night to watch over them. It is my lil 9lb fluffer that likes to chase them and killed one of my Marans (Skyblue) when she was about 8 weeks old. I replaced her with 9 chicks ;) see how that works?! :)

Anyway.....

I live in the far Northwest corner of Washington State close to the Canadian border on 2.5 acres and LOVE hanging with my ladies.

Hi and welcome-byc.gif
Glad to have you here! Pretty cool that you guys built your coop from recycled materials. We didn't build, but we certainly patched ours up with scraps lying round lau.gif It was in a right state when we first moved in tongue.png
And sounds like an epic flock you've got.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site. big_smile.png
