I converted my water-er I used for my chicks when they were little to one with 3 nipples in the bottom and hung upside down.. They took to it immediately...Chicken waterer.jpg

Looks nice !
I still can't get my chickens to drink from the one I made. sad.png
I might have to try a different design or something or just buy a bigger hanging round one with the red bottom and say forget it.

I have the same dilemma - I love the "nipple" waterer system but my hens do not seem to care.  I tried to show them but they wouldn't go for it....  I wish they could "learn"!

How high off the ground is your system? I hung mine today, and I'm worried it's a little too low.

Hatch Cam goes live approx 5/21. Hatching 7 legbars http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wendywr1

I have 25ish chickens, including legbars, coronation sussex, FBCM, polish, ameraucanas, EE and OE

You can always convert it to a waterer cups system.  It has water they can see and easily drink from with all of the benefits and conveniences of a nipple system.

I hung mine about 18" from the bottom of the nipples off the ground. Also, If you keep another water thing in there they won't use the nipple ones..  If they only have 1 source of water they will find and drink from it..

Just my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!
