From my observation it just depends on each bird, i have 4 males that call all the time and one male i never hear, heck even one of my peahens is doing it, crazy girl.

Honestly when i am inside my home i can barely hear them ,at night they are about 50 feet from my home up in the trees.

I guess if a home is not well insulated and close to another anything would be to loud be it a dog or bird.

Crazy guys are calling right now ,sounds like a bunch of ally cats. LOL
