Hen taking hours to lay an egg

Hey everyone I am new to having chickens. One of our hens laid her first egg last week and nothing again until today which has been about 7 days. It was a little smaller than a normal sized egg but it looked great! This morning she started singing the egg song at about 7 and keeps going in and out of the nesting box but still no egg. She is walking around and hanging with the other chickens but her back end is kind of huntched (sry don't know how else to describe it) like she does need to lay. She just keeps going back and forth and this has been going on for about 5 hours. Is this normal?

Once your hen starts to lay, her cycle may not be quite normal. When my chickens started to lay eggs, it was a few days until I got another egg. My best advice would be to just not worry, her egg process will normal out and she'll get the hang of it.D.gif
