identifying my 17 day old mystery chick????? *UPDATED PICS- 4 WEEKS!*

so my chicks hatched on june 1st and i've been searching the internet and can't find any chick that looks like mine... i think hes a rooster but any feedback would be great... IMG_1150.jpg

The new feathering resembles my Golden Comets. HTH! wink.png

Married, 1 son, I have a wonderful loving family, so that means my chickens get alot of love from us-well from me & my son mostly, but I like to pretend my husband loves it to! 1 collie dog, 2 Leghorns, 1 OEGB rooster, 5 Gold Comets,2 Dekalb Amberlinks, 2 Buff Brahma's, 2 Light Brahma's, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Col. Rock Cross, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes hens & 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster.

It's a little hard to guess at the breed until more of the feathers come in and it is definitely too early to guess at the gender.  I would give it another 2-4 weeks, then post pictures that show the plumage AND the comb.

I agree, it appears to be an auto sexing hybrid, possibly a golden comet.

 Silver Ameraucanas, Blue Bredas, Partridge Chanteclers, and Bantam Spangled Russian Orloffs.

the new feathers are growing in a tan/goldish color but the only thing that confuses me is that his head is like a caramel-y colorwhile the rest of his body is much much lighter.... thanks!

better view of his back... and his face...

 

its also strange because he has very little comb development, while my other eight seem to be developing combs at this point. one of my other chicks is more developed than the rest and it's starting to turn reddish... is that an indicator of a rooster?

That's an interesting comb it is growing.  Can't tell from here but it looks to be a rose comb of sorts. Did you get this bird from a hatchery?  If not, it is probably a barnyard mutt.

no i just got my eggs from a local farm... i figured that he was probably a mutt but it's not like the place i got him/her from had a bad reputation or anything of that sort
