The original 3 nest box as pictured works very well. I think the fact that the egg tray creates a dark area so that the eggs aren't visible. You should install a bumper. I took a piece of foam insulation for 1/2 pipe and split it in half. The incline for the ramp work well with 1 1/2".

When having problems with chickens stop and think, what would Harlan do? I've dealt with many thorns in my life and the flower is always worth the effort.

Thank You for this design. I found this site and join because of it. I moved my hatching egg flock and needed to build a few small nesting boxes. Because I raise eggs for hatching extra care is always good. The idea of a continuous slope with no drop I believe will work for me. I will take that idea and modify it for egg gathering inside the coop. Thank You!!!
Opa, I love your roll-away nest boxes! Is it still possible to get on your list for plans? Some of my hens really love eggs and I've been trying to find plans for something like this for more than a year with no success. Either way, thank you for posting the pictures.
