Watermelon!

On their 10 week birthday I gave the girls Watermelon. They loved it! :) They are getting so big now.

aww, your girls are so pretty!  mine LOVE watermelon too.  they get every bit of melon off that rind every time!

My girls will eat it until the skin is paper thin. A favorite treat for sure.

same here. mine LOVE watermelon! I usually give them a whole half to peck at. Once I drilled a bunch of holes all around a whole melon and they pushed it all around the yard trying to get the fruit, it was too cute!

Oh what pretty ladies! Ours love watermelons as well, definitely their favorite treat :-) ...Aside from the dried mealworm...

It is never a dull day in our zoo :)

At what age do you think is safe to start giving watermelon? I have 34 12 day old babies and am very concerned with the heat (Southcentral Oklahoma). I'm looking for ways to keep them cool. Yesterday in the late afternoon, their coop topped 100 degrees and a few started panting. I have Quik Chik in their water and good ventilation, but want to make sure I take every precaution to ensure their safety.

My chickens love watermelon they devour it when I put it in the pin!it is fun to watch them eat it!The ducks love it as well!
