How do hen-raised chicks join the flock in the coop?

I have a Mama-hen with 3 lovely chicks. They're 4 weeks old now. They live in a penthouse-suite next to the coop for now. During the day, they're out foraging with the rest of the flock, so the chicks are being introduced/integrated with the flock.

This is my first time with hen/chicks.

So I expect that in a few weeks, mama-hen will rejoin the rest of the flock in the coop. When should the chicks join the flock to roost at night? Will they do this on their own or do they need help? Will they just go in there and roost with them when they're ready, or will I need to place them in there one night?

when they are about the same age as the other chickens.

They should go with the hen, whatever age they are....since she's been in and around the flock since the chicks hatched, the other birds are already familiar and they know not to mess with the chicks.... they should be fine. I have 7, eleven day olds in the coop with the broodies and everyone else, nobody messes with them. Plus, I have 8, one month olds from a breeder - they have a section of the coop they can slip into to get away from any harassment.... but generally they're out with the other birds too....
