Not sure what to do for chicken that has wandered up to my house.

Look in the Yellow Pages under FEED. You may find that someone sells it; here, even ACE Hardware, one Walmart and one or two grocery stores have feed on their shelves. If not, even a wild birdseed mixture may be something that would help make sure she eats enough to supplement what she's just finding on her own. At least it's summer and everything is green and bugs should be plentiful.

They lay very nice eggs and she's a beautiful girl!

I plan to have one in my future! I wish I had one now, but we let our 3 girls pick the majority of our hens. We have 9 breeds out of 11 hens.

Seems to me that her flock shouldn't be far from your house. My chickens never wonder very far from their coop. But I live in the country & guess mine are content here at the farm. Keeping her is your decision & you do get attached to the baby's but in reality she really needs to be with some others. I would be worried about a predator getting her at night or even in the day. Dogs love to kill chickens. Maybe, if you do decide to keep her find her a safe place to roost at night & maybe find her a running buddy. Just my thoughts I know chickens don't like being alone. At Least, mine don't. I've had to isolate some of my chickens before & they seemed sad being by themselves maybe that's just me who knows. Good luck with her its your call.

How big is she?

Looks like a BB Red game to me. She has the right color shank and shape for it.

Wellsumers should have at least a pale yellow shank color.

Do they fight chickens in your area?

I was just about to say, she doesn't look like a Welsummer; her shanks aren't yellow at all and her shape is wrong. She looks like she's got some game in her? is she standard sized or bantam? either way she's really pretty!
