Japanese Beetles ~ is there a way i can trap and then feed them?

our area has a high number of japanese beetles.   i know the chickens love beetles (we play a game of beetle beetle who has the beetle with the ones that fall in the 5 gallon bucket of water)....but i wonder if i can trap these and then feed them to the chickens?

i found a homemade japanese beetle trap that has mashed bananas, yeast, sugar and water in a milk carton.   if i clean this out daily could the chickens eat it safely?

i am always trying to find new ways to give them bugs when they arent out free ranging it.

I read somewhere on here about somebody that bought a beetle trap and cut the bottom out. They attached a section of gutter to the bag. The gutter went into the pen. When the beetles fly into the trap they bounce down the gutter. They said the chickens learned that the sound of the beetle bouncing down the gutter meant a snack was coming. You ma have to put a shallow pan of water at the bottom to keep the beetles from flying away.
