I really want to adopt a cherry head conure at the shelter, and it is a male. I have a female mit red conure and I plan on introducing them to each other. But if there is a chance they will breed I might not get him. So to get to my question can diffrent species of conures breed?

Don't worry about them mating. Without a nestbox they probably won't even consider it. It takes most people a lot of effort to get parrots to breed, lol. It's way more complicated than chickens or dogs. If you do decide to adopt her, introduce them slowly. They get jealous very easy and my fight over cages. Definitely don't put them in the same cage at first. Otherwise it sounds like a great idea to adopt! Even if there was a one in a million chance that they did mate just take the eggs away the same way you would a chicken.

ETA: Yes conures CAN mate with different species of conures but it's even harder to get 2 different species to mate, haha.

Ducks:

1 Muscovy Hen- Ducky

Parrots:

Amazon Parrot- Paco, Eclectus Parrot- Echo, 2 Cockatiels- Gizmo & Pearl, Green Cheek Conure- Bella.

Other:

1 Dog- Simba, 1 Bearded Dragon- Chomper, 1 Degu- Momo, 1 Demon Cat- Lucy

Ok thank you. For some reason I thought they would be like finches, and lay eggs in their food bowl, lol.
