Purple Ear

This 3 month old Roo is out of a pure WL that I bred to my cross breed BCM/ BO, there were 3 roos 2 of which carried this purple ear. Maybe I just have never noticed this before but does anyone know how common this is of these 3 breeds ? Is it a recessive or dominant trait ?

yes, WL stands for White Leghorn.

And that is why I often get annoyed with the endless abbreviations, many of which I never see anywhere else (although it seems to be starting to seep in.   ARRRGH!)
