Steinbachers, not to my knowledge, or atleast not for pet prices as there would be importing fees and costs to be recouped.

This is the only place I've ever remembered seeing them for sale but I'm sure there are others.

However, Celtic is right they are a pretty penny. Most people don't sell hatching eggs or Goslings yet due to them being worth so much.

Somebody I know told me that either they, or a friend had purchased some of these geese. For some reason, I think it was Kawonu?

I like the Steinbacher geese as well! The only place selling them in the US is:steinbacherfarm.vpweb.com

They only sell so many a year and at set times. I am waiting to hear back from them on price.

I imagine it will be more than I will pay for a farm goose.. lol. But thought I would inquire.

If i'm not mistaken the steinbacher's passed their qualifiying meet at Indianapolis last fall. Now i'm not quite 100% sure on the requirements for acceptance of new breed to the standard are, but i believe a few different people (i want to think 5?) have to raise and breed the bird a number of years before it's eligible to even qualify. I could go on an on trying to explain the process that i've had explained to me once, quite a while ago, so i'll just cut to the chase. If at least part of my memory is correct there are at least 5 people in the U.S. who breed them and now that they've been accepted i'm sure that number will grow.
