Sizzle Bantams

This is my first post so I am not sure that starting a new thread is the correct thing to do. Please redirect me if there is a more appropriate place to post my question.

 

I was recently given a young rooster that I was told is a Sizzle (Silkie/Frizzle Cochin cross).  We call him Tyrion and I've attached a pic of him below. He has 5 toes, black skin and a small comb.  He has a great personality and gets along well with my full size Buff Orp roo and the rest of the flock (through a fence though, I keep him separated just in case he gets fiesty).  He seemed a little lonely so I contacted the breeder and subsequently bought a young Partridge Cochin bantam hen.  They get along famously and are quite tame and friendly.

 

My question is if they were to produce fertile eggs, is it safe to assume the offspring would be frizzled too?  Is this a safe cross to make? I've been reading online that breeding frizzle birds can cause all kinds of genetic issues if not done correctly.

Is the hen frizzled or smooth?

I might be wrong but I think I read that some eggs will be and some won't but all the chicks will carry the frizzle gene. I am sure that someone who knows for sure will chime in. He sure is cute!!!

The hen is a smooth Partridge Cochin bantam.  I was told she is purebred with no frizzle in her genetics.

 

Here is a pic of her after a snack of juicy mealworms.  Both birds are in temporary quarters while we design a coop for them (hence the small doghouse).

If you breed these two I beleive you will get a 50/50 hatch. 50% smooth chicks and 50% frizzled chicks but it's save to breed the two. Just don't breed frizzled to frizzled and you will be ok.
