Thanks. He's a pretty handsome guy, I think. So far, he's not shown any aggression whatsoever, and I'm hopeful that he won't.

He is gorgeous! I hope he settles down and you can keep him without problems. That little Tiny thing has some impressive spurs on her! I wouldn't want to get in her way lol.

I went into the coop late this afternoon to collect the last eggs. Wasn't really paying attention to the chickens, but I suddenly felt a sharp pain just above me knee. I looked down and saw one of my young roosters aiming for my leg again. The little sh** bit me! So He actually broke the skin on my leg and I was wearing thick cloth pants. It hurt like blazes. Don't know what the heck got into him today, he used to be so sweet.

I gave him a kick and a piece of my mind, but I don't like this and I don't want to have to kick him and keep an eye out every time I go in there. Advice?

He escaped again tonight when DH was putting in the main flock. DH came in fuming, said he left him out there and intended to leave him until it was dark, even if it was raining. So, he's losing patience with the little idiot rapidly. In fact, he said anyone who wants him can have him.

He's still not aggressive, just too much trouble for us to corral when no one else is giving us any grief. I've sold a cockerel who was worse than Gideon, but for the same reason-he's just too much trouble to deal with for us, though maybe not for someone else. I went outside and he was following me around, begging pieces of pancake off me, but wouldn't let me catch him.

Sumi, I never put up with aggressive, not when I won't even put up with skittish.

Just placed a BYC ad for him here.

That's a pity sad.png He's such a stunning boy, I was hoping he'll settle. Well, I guess Tiny would be happy to see him go. Hope you find him a good home.

I trapped him in the broody pen. Well, he trapped himself, goofy thing. All I did was shut the door. Then, DH said his crop was big and extra hard so we brought Mr. Idiot inside overnight with nothing but water to be sure it was just him being a pig, which it was. It was completely down by morning. He drove my dog (and DH) nuts crowing his not-so-great-yet crow all morning in my livingroom and now, is back out with the flock. I had a devil of a time getting him out of the rabbit cage; finally, had to gather his legs together, with him protesting, and squeeze him through the door. He never offered to even nip me, though, which was excellent and promising as far as temperament goes.

As much trouble as I've had lately finding homes for anyone, he may be here for quite awhile, and during that time, he may settle down anyway, so cross your fingers that Gideon's issue is just extra irritating "teenage buttheadery".

I hope he settles down now fl.gif I can tell you are quite fond of him. Sometimes my roosters also go through these stages, mostly they grow out of it though. Papa must take him in hand, I think. Chicken papa that is.

I've got some beautiful young roosters here that needs to go soon. They are getting a bit much now. Luckily there's lots of people round here that wants chickens.

He has the makings of a really good flock rooster, if he'll just chill.

OMG! Cyn, I'm so glad you guys are o.k. It would've really sucked if he hit one of your chickens too. What is wrong with your sheriff??? Does someone have to get killed before they do something? (Sounds like our local cops) You can't leave it at that. That's no way to live! Wait until he nearly kills you again, phone the sheriff, then only something happen. And in the meantime?

No, no, no, go raise hell!
