New to the scene

Hello fellow chicken enthusiasts,

I am new to the the whole Backyard Chickens scene. Currently I own one Rhode Island red named Otis. I received him (somewhat certain its a rooster) and two ducklings for mothers day from my family. He is a very sweet bird and has imprinted on my family as his surrogate family. He acts more like a lap dog then a chicken, so I am currently looking for a pretty little feathery friend for him to help encourage his inner rooster to come out. That is, if he is indeed a rooster.

Thank you. This site has already proven its self very useful. I just found out that my sweet little rooster, Otis, is actually a sweet little hen. lol. maybe I should change her name to Otessa?

Hi and welcome-byc.gif

Your rooster (or rather hen now lol.png) sound very cute!! I'm sure she'll enjoy having some chicken buddies around as well.
That's a pretty cute shot in your avatar as well. tongue.png

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site. big_smile.png
