You have to get this perfectly level for the water to work and then sometime it still leaks. You have to monkey around with for it to work. The handle is welded cheaply and busted off...

Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

They have every color that you can imagine. Mille Fleur, Barred, Lavender, all white, etc... They aren't sellers though. They just were nice enough to give a few of their babies to my daughter. They've hatched some themselves and bought several from breeders. This lot was mostly from a breeder (not sure who).

I once had a chick just like the second one.... never figured out what kind she was. It will grow up to be very pretty though.

So we decided to exchange our Pebbles (who as it turns out was a Fred) because he was picking on my other two. We got one that looks the same except we're fairly sure that this one is a girl (lots of feathers and nearly no comb). She's so much smaller (about a third the size) and was getting pretty trampled by the 23 others in my neighbor's brooder that I just had to "rescue" her. She is so sweet! My other two liked her instantly and everybody is happy. I'll have to post a picture so I can get opinions if this one is actually a girl or if I'm just really bad at telling the difference.
