I would be freaked out, i don't like nobody in my space that i did not invite and i got a very, very, big space.

He mentally challenged and by law should be monitored for his own safety and well being as well as those that are around him, i can't believe they just turn him loose on his own, who knows whats gonna happen.

I would call social services and make a report, The bigger he gets the bigger the problem is gonna become.

It's sad that none has taken the time to teach him right from wrong but at this age a normal teen is just starting to deal with the facts of life and some of get pretty wild.

 

Hope you get this taken care of it is a very scary thing, he may get shot one day walking into the wrong house at the wrong time, if someone walked into my house and i did not know who they were or what they wanted and felt fear, well it won;t have a happy ending if i have no choice.

As hard as it may be, the authorities need to be contacted as.well as social services. First and foremost he is trespassing and secondly he is clearly not being properly cared for. The child is endangering himself with his behavior, what happens when he walks into the wrong house and is hurt?

His parents are obligated to teach him and at a minimum monitor him. Put a stop to it now. You and your animals deserve a peaceful normal existence. I would not have tolerated it past the first time. Good luck to you

Cops,locks,and social services.Kids get away with murder all the time,and those with disabilites more so. What if he gets an *itch* to do sometihng to your kids? I say nip it now,and not wait till you are crying in court.Disability or not I have absolutely no sympathy for those who mess with me,my family,and our *stuff*.Good luck.

I'd be beating him with a fishing pole if it was me, but to each their own. I hope it gets better for you, but sometimes you just have to be proactive. 

How would you feel, if one of your pets didn't survive a "play date"? I'd try again with the parents, maybe politely but assertively remind them it's trespassing, and next time you will call the authorities instead of them. It's hard fighting with neighbors, but you shouldn't have to padlock everything either, it's your property, they may need to be told that by someone with more authority than you. Some people are hard that way and it's easier to have a professional deal with them.

just read the paintball part, we own and live on a 50 acre paintball field, that would be the most likely to happen here. When the parents came to ask, well, wait till next time when the cops bring him home, they will explain it to you. Beating your ducks with a fishing pole, I agree I'd chase him home beating him with his own pole.

You really, really need to protect what's your's.   Your family has to come first and you do have the right not to have this person constantly trespassing and causing mayhem and damage.

 

You also have a serious potential liability issue here.  If he gets hurt on your property, whether he is trespassing or not, his parents can and most likely will sue you. It's easy for them to play the "attractive nuisance" card, saying he's attracted by your animals etc. and that you didn't do enough to keep him out!  If he gets hurt you won't believe how you suddenly become the responsible bad guy!  You need to put up "No Trespassing" signs to show intent and most importantly you need to call the police and report this situation fully.  You need to have it on record that you have been trying to stop this. 

 

Be proactive, do not wait until something bad happens.  This person could easily be a danger to you and your children and you know he is a danger to your animals.  I would not have tolerated it this long!

I agree with carfarmgirl you need to start the paperwork now. If his parents are starting to act agressive driving by cussing and such you need to take steps now to protect yourself from legal issues like she said above. Obviously trying the nice neighboor route is having little effect on how they monitor this young man.
