I am so sorry for your loss. It happened to me recently and my girl wasn't happy...my Silkies live separately to my big girls. I moved my silky into the sitting room and she watched tellie for a couple of nights until I could get her a friend. We ended up with two young ones who she loves taking care of.( my husbands theory being if one passed away we would still have two). She has coped really well, likes them and they are all happy.
It's so distressing when they die, on so many levels. I hope it works out for you
