I get eggs from yearlings usually around late season.  If you only have yearling males in there I would bet against being fertile.  If I have a hen that turns one early in the season, I will put her in with a fertile male and see what happens.  I have at least one yearling midnight female throwing fertile eggs.

AugeredIn,,I'm really getting to dis-like so called "split" birds,,since they don't breed true and if you buy them to try and increase the particular color they are "split" to,,,I don't believe you could  ever get enough by using  this type of breeding,,these purples split to peach don't  even look purple,,more IB color on their necks but the only reason I do like them,,is I think 2 of them are going to show w/e in their trains,,and if this doesn't happen when they molt and grow new feathers over the winter,,I'm going to sell them,,

I wondered what Puple peach would look like.  I was wondering if it was even possible I think you would just really get peach.

Common current theory is that peach is actually a combination of purple and (I think) cameo working together on the same chromosome, not it's own unique set of genetic code. So, in essence, peach birds would be both together, which would preclude peach being "split" to purple or cameo.

Yes, purple and cameo.  I have not heard of anyone trying peach to purple or peach to cameo breeding, but you would expect they would produce purple and cameo respectively.

The color peach in some breeders eyes,is just a darker shade of Cameo,,,But I have seen a true peach bird,,bred by someone who actually can distinguish between an off colored cameo,vs a real peach,,using birds split to peach and hoping that oneday,,,you may get a peach chick by using a peach hen to a split peach male,,is like watching paint  dry,,,I have dismissed this type of breeding,,too time consuming, very low percentage of hatching a bird of wanted color by using split parents,,it's a good selling tool tho,,,but I'm not going to live to be 100 yrs old.
