SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME? - Page 42

I run my humidity at about 40 - 50% too and they seem develop well long as I can keep my temp correct!! Grr....  Then up it to atleast 70% the last few days. cause I had alot of sticky chicks from my first batch. the second two looked much better at hatch. Have ring neck pheasants and a few more chick eggs in now.
 

Anybody hatching this weekend?  I have 2 Turkens that pipped this AM.  I had a 50% hatch rate 2 hatches but the very last hatch I did have 2 that were very yucky.   I had to get the membrane off of them with a q-tip. One of the chicks has crooked toes and is blind and another died a couple of days later.  I had the humidity at 70%.  In the Genesis, if you up humidity above 65% condensation forms on the window.  That really does happen at 70%.  I can deal with that if that is what it takes to safely hatch my chicks.  I added a digital thermometer/hygrometer last time and it was reading in the 80s (but it was also sitting on top of the water wells so that was hard to go by). 

Does anyone else have the Genesis Pre-set?

Good.  I'm glad I'm not hatching alone.  I just had two of the cutest Turkens hatch out!  One is black with pink skin and the other is black and white with black skin.  They are adorable. 

Pidgey104, I just hatched some of you Turkens.  They are precious.  Will post pics soon.  Waiting on the others in lockdown now.

Well, so far I've hatched 1 BBS Naked Neck & 1 Lavender Naked Neck (both so fuzzy and cute) & 2 BBS AmerOrps & 1 BBS Orp.  I have 1 Turken that has pipped and 2 Amer. & 2 mystery eggs & the egg that my son cracked (chick is in air sac that developed on the side) doing nothing.  They were really due the 22nd so, we will see what happens. 

It's now 3:35am, and I'm listening to one of the AmerOps and the Orp complain about being in the bator.  They just hatched about an hour ago.  So, they are still wet, but very fiesty. 

Well, wish me some sleep!  I really don't feel like I'll be getting any tonight.  The things we go through to hatch. lol.

I have 2 hens sitting on eggs due today. Both are BO mix hens (BO & Light Brahma, but look BO). Both of them had a crushed egg in their nests last night. One chick didn't make it, one did. Haven't been out since early this morning to see if any other eggs have hatched.

I'm sorry about your eggs and chick getting crushed.  Hopefully, everything else is safe.

Well, I hatched another Turken sometime during the weeeeeeeeee hours this AM around 4:00-4:30AM.  Still waiting for 3 that have internal pips.  I can hear them peeping.

Checked on my BO hens. Both have one chick under them. One has a Black Cochin mix, one has a Grey Cochin mix. Rosie (with the grey baby) has one more egg pipped. Don't think her other 3 eggs are going to do anything. Sheila (with the black chick) has 2 more eggs, but I don't think they are going to do anything. Yesterday one of my full blooded Blue Cochins went Broody. I gave her 4 eggs to sit on.
