A few chick questions!

I have 5 new hampshire red chicks, about 4 weeks old now. Now that they are pretty well feathered 3 are dark red and 2 are very light, tanish almost. They are supposed to be all females since they came from a hatchery. Do their colors vary in the females? Also have 6  Jersey giants about  5 weeks old one is not feathering very fast at all on the upper part of its wings or tail. The other 5 are fully feathered. These chicks were given to me locally (not from a hatchery) and I dont know their sexes yet. Could it be a cockerel, I hear they sometimes feather slower? Or maybe its just a slower developing little girl.. any ideas??

It is identical to all of the other jersery giants, other than the feather growth, The head doesnt seem any smaller than the others and they make all the same noises. Havent noticed that it is anymore or less friendly than the rest either!  :)

I guess now that I looked her over real well, she is the only one with no black on her comb at all it does look to be a little redder than the others..
