Tricide Neo for Bumblefoot- Still recommended?

Okay, so about a month and a half ago, we treated one of my Polish for bumblefoot, where the bumble was popping out the top of her foot. We did the minor procedure, and procured a nice kernal of infection. It was very gross, and many thanks to my mother for more or less doing the surgery for me! The bumble healed without any incidents.

Now, both of my Polish hens have bumblefoot on both feet. It hasn't progresses much. We tried the procedure on both chickens, by peeling off the scab on the bottom of their feet, and scraping out the cheesy substance, but when we peeled off the scabs and dug around, there was nothing we could get out of the remaining hole- no cheesy stuff, nothing. We bandaged them up, and everything healed, but the black scabs reformed, and now their feet look a little more enflamed and swelled.

I read a thread on here about soaking feet in Tricide Neo for koi and other fish- is this still a recommended and plausible treatment? How do you go about soaking the feet, and in what substances and concentrations? If I make a gallon of the Tricide Neo, could I reuse a dose on both chickens feet?

Thank you very much! I'm so frustrated, and I don't want my chicken's feet to get worse!

The two cases of bumblefoot I've dealt with, I did surgically.  It all worked out in the end, but if I can get away with not having to slice their feet open, I'd love to.  Is there a recommended egg withdrawal period associated with use of Tricide for bumblefoot?

There isnt any withdrawal period with trineo as far as I know. I ate the eggs, still here.

Good deal, then, thanks!  I think I'll give it a shot next time around; they always manage to find some way to eventually bumble a foot when roaming the yard.

So its still considered a good treatment? Well then, I'm certainly going to give it a try! I'll order from that one koi website, if they still carry it.

Wonderful! Hopefully it will help get rid of bumblefoot for both Polish- they will appreciate it as well.

So, what it the best way to soak with Tricide Neo? Once or trice daily? How much used per bird? Can you reuse the soak from one bird on another bird, if they both have clean feet?

All right- I ordered the Tricide-Neo from Koi Acres website. Earlier threads said that there was free shipping, but those threads are at least a year old, and the price had gone up from $20 to $22 without free shipping. hmm.png

I decided to try the 1 gallon concentration, even though it wasn't as good as a deal, because I wanted to see how well it worked before buying a whole bunch. As soon as it arrives and I start treatment, I'll take pictures of both Polish feet, and post them to track progress- hopefully it can help any one else who plans on trying it!
