She looks like a production red and they are known for laying lots of eggs.

Count your chickens before they hatch and put all yours eggs in one basket...scary but not fatal

Where did you get her?

She's too young to have sex feathers, so that's no indicator of sex. I'm thinking pullet cause of her color, but those are some thickish legs.

I'm saying pullet for now, maybe post back in a month or so.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

But it is not a pullet because she has not started laying eggs.

A pullet is a female chicken under 1 year old regardless of whether or not it is laying eggs.  Your chick looks like it might be a cross breed with some Cornish in the background.  It's got thick, wideset legs and heavy breast like a Cornish but the color is way off for a pure Cornish.  It also looks like it has a single comb.  It might possibly be a game cross too.  I'm on the fence on gender for this one.

right now gender appears to be a pullet  and pullets wont start laying till 5 months and some dont lay till they are a year old
