Lost my second dog in 30 days :) - Page 2

Just back from the Vet again today and they want to see him tomorrow as well! He will be on heart tabs now for the rest of his life. They think he is improving but also said no guarantee that he will be ok. They said basically that even with the tabs he could do well for a wee time and then collapse again. DH and I both said if he collapses again with the heart giving out then we would have to have him put to sleep. I am soooo upset right now I don;t want to lose my Murph. It ls all very raw especially since I only lost my mum 4 months back with a major heart attack.

I thought I would have Murph for years yet but now I am faced with a situation that I can;t take him for a walk until the vet says its ok and that could be weeks and even then I could have him on the end of the leed perfectly fine and then he could just collapse and die. All very worrying. I wouldn;t know how to get the dog home he is much too big for me to carry.

I am really upset and sad - you all know how much I love the Murph.

Oes - he is even my avatar and post name and on my desk top pic. - hit.gifAt least I can talk to you mad folk who love dogs too.

Oesdog,

I am sooo very sorry for Murph's diagnosis.  This is a most difficult time for you.  Dig deep to find your strength.  hugs.gif

Just to let you know on this thread that Murphy passed away today. We took him to a different Vet. He was very good. Told us straight away he had sever internal bleeding and likely cause was a tumor in the chest putting pressure on the heart. Were were told we could get him scanned to verify that but the vet told us that it was extremely unlikly that he would survive the sedation for the test and that he was in a lot of pain. so decition was made and we went with the vets advice. Sad but no regrets Murph didn;t deserve to be in that much pain.It wouldn;t be fare to keep him like that.

Oes.
