How do you get rid of Thread Cooties

I must have an awful case of thread cootieshide.gif. I have the worst time getting more then maybe 1 response to anything I posthu.gif. Is there some sort of cream you can get for them sickbyc.gif. I know people are busy and some dont know so dont want to post ect but with as large as this forum is and as active as some of the sections are that I post on there has to be more then one or two people that can respond. Pretty soon I will have to start nameing them and asking them questions instead. hit.gif I guess I will make shure to send them to a good universty .

I did a quick look at the threads you have started and - and I don't mean any offense whatsoever - it looks like a lot of them are "Facebook" kind of content.  I, for one, am Facebooked out.  I don't care what my friends had for breakfast or that they're currently at the xxxxx Mall shopping for a gift for someone I've never heard of.  I used to use Facebook as a way to stay in touch with what my friends were up to but after awhile realized what I wanted to know is if something really great or really bad is happening in their lives.  Instead I got a window into the boring nitty-gritty details of their lives that I simply didn't need to know.  So I stopped using FB altogether.

Posts like "Here's a pic of my cute cat" or "cuteness overload" are the kinds of posts people go to FB to see.  Here on BYC, a question - a real question indicating a desire to learn something new - is likely to garner more responses, especially if it is not one that is asked by someone 10x per day.

Thank you for your insight. I apoligize for posting face book like content on here. I have asked sevral actual questions lately like about my chicks eye or the air cell on the egg thats about to hatch ect and have few responses to those ether. Backyard chickens is one of the few places I have were i can enjoy talking to peple but I will refrain from trying to be friendly aparently only certain people are allowed to post about there animals or at certain times or something as I see lots of cute chic pic posts ect . Dont worry its nothing new for me I spend most of my days with no one intersted in talkng to me so I know the drill.

Have a good night

Dont fret!!! It's okay... you know we like you! We just might not have an answer for your question though... we might know HOW to help your birds..and dont want to give you bad advice that could harm your birds..
Honestly.. most of the really good members that know a lot about birds and were VERY helpful are not on here anymore... sorry. They've moved on to other forums and sites.. sad.png
So dont take it personally.. hugs.gif

Egad - it looks like I did offend you after all - I'm so sorry.  I really was just trying to help you know what kind of posts get the most responses.  We have ALL been where you are at one point or another.  I've had threads go completely unanswered.  Don't take it personally - it either means no one knows the answer or its at a time of day when the board is moving so fast that it gets down to the second page too quickly.

Myself, I try to look through the unanswered threads at least once each day and if I know the answer to a question I will answer, but there are many I simply do not know the answer to, and I feel it is not helpful to guess or give bad information so I leave those, hoping someone who DOES know the answer will chime in.

Exactly how I feel! My freinds post unnessicary stuff like "Going to ____ with ____ today, I lover her!" and post unnessicary picutres of them doing cheesy poses and talk about their relationships. Drives me crazy! Like you said, I like to use facebook to talk to freinds, not post how my life is going. roll.png

Mark 11:22-23

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

I wasnt offended by you.

Looks like this thread has been turned into what you feel about how people use the freedom of speach on there own facebook pages. If I have a friend on face book that feels its nesscary to post play by play on there entire life I also find it a bit trying but I also realize that its what they enjoy . What right do we have to say your only allowed to post what I dont find annoying maybe just as many people find it annoying that your on face book and post such dry boreing stuff all the time. lau.gif
