I have a black mottled bantam cochin roo that I am trying to get ready to show and to take to the fair for the first time. What do you guys feed your show birds? I know that he needs extra protein for feathers. We are pretty limited when it comes to feed around here. Our feed store has Purina Layena, this Omega 3 stuff, Dumor Crumble and Pellets, chick feed, and not much else. Would it be best to feed my roo chick feed since it has more protein and less calcium? We do have Poultry Conditioner from Manna Pro that I give him. Any recommendations? His feathers could use some work and his comb is not as red as I would like it to be.
