is this stealing? should i put free range hen into my coop?

and since I posted this last....she has been back again, and just hatched out 8 babies 2 days ago. She is a MACHINE! Glad I didn't take her though...so many illnesses out there :/

Another update...a family dollar was erected since she started sitting her eggs, so now she has to pass through a parking lot. Next time, there will be actual cars in the parking lot-I hope she stays safe :fl

Does she look sick at all? Could you quarentine her for awhile. Poor girl, I hope her and her chicks don't get run over. :(
Thanks for updating.

These are the critters! There lots of them. They live on scraps of food.  I don not know where they find water.  They have big clutches of babies.  I had to work hard to get this pic...they run like the wind. And I had to ignore the weird glances i was getting from my fellow shoppers.  Look at those legs.  They look like beep beep the road runner.  Ive never eaten one but they look like the meat might be quite tough!

Wow they're very pretty chickens, very sad their not cared for. I would be putting food and water out for them if we had them here. They must be pretty tuff to survive!

Thanks so much for posting! They're impressive, and I love the photo--it tells a story. He does look athletic!

wow! those zulu chickens need their own thread! they are amazing! they remind me of Aseel here in the US.

She doesn't look sick, but she could still be a carrier. so No Thanks, not gonna risk my few girls I have.

Wow they do have long legs! And very pretty I just noticed the girl next to him , looks like he's keeping a close lookout for her.

Hes not the biggest roo! the "alpha roo" was round the corner with a flock of hens. But I think he was enjoying some time with his gal while Mr. Alpha was not looking! Ill definatley post more pictures, there are also black and white speckled ones. I certainly wont take them home I got little bantams and they are my pride and joy. I think chicken adventure is right..these birds may be carriers of many things but because they are such a tough breed and have learnt to survive with little care they dont seem affected. But they could make my birds sick. Plus these boys can crow!!!

I know I'm really late to reply to this, but if the chickens leave his property then I would think that makes her free game so to speak. It isn't like you are going onto their property to take their chicken. You are going onto your parents property that they rent out to rescue an abandoned animal. No different than if a dog or a cat was a stray, if it isn't on the owners property then I'd retrieve it. Although I would suspect that there is a process to go through with the humane society or some such just the same as if you found a stray dog.
