Cackle extra mystery chick

Thread Starter

My friend ordered a bunch of comets and assorted standard cochins from cackle and got this mystery chick. Looks like something mottled, possible single comb, but I can barely see it, with the lower wing feathers coming in white and the upper ones black, clean legs, 4 toes and orange legs. What is he?

I think Black Austrolorp chick. I have on two and she is getting bigger and so pretty. They are very nice big chickens and lay eggs well.

They do. I'm thinking it might be an Aussie or it could also be a Black Sumatra, or Jersey Giant. Sometimes they don't have the black wash on the legs right away.

1 German Shepherd, 1 Borador, 1 Malitpoo, 1 West Highland Terrier, 1 German Shorthair Pointer puppy, 3 Australorps, 6 Red Sex Links, 1 Black Sex Link, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Tetra Tints (aka: Amber Sex Link) and 9 Easter Eggers.

YES, I had to thin my flock out. It went from 57 to 28.  :(

sumatra babies have a more upright posture with a black stripe passing through the eye. the also grow significantly slower then layers like comets. he would shortly appear to be a runt. gotta be australorp.
