seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

I am so thankful that I have found this site....I have 4 Hens (2 leghorns and 2 buff orpington) that are 18 weeks old and NOT laying yet...then I also have 6 buff orpingtons that are 12 weeks old and 2 roosters...

from a fellow Buckeye. So glad to have you aboard. Some breeds can take up to 24 wks to lay. Our heat may be contributing to the late lay as well. You should also check out the other Ohio members at the link below.
