chicken life lesson

I have so enjoyed reading about all of your chickens and the sweet pictures of you and your babies holding them.  I am new to raising chickens.  In fact I got a small flock 6 to be exact for my birthday in May.  I have added 6 more chickens.  I every day go out and feed them snacks, take care of their pen, water....okay you guys know the drill.  I admit to reading your posts with a bit of envy with you all having such trusting birds.  I thought about God, (at this point if the God thing makes you uncomfortable go ahead and go on to another posting) about how he made us.  How he might long to hold us in his arms, his creation.  To have a relasionship with us.  To make sure we have food and water and shelter.  How he would want to keep us safe from predators.  And funny enough well I am pondering this thought one of my little bantam old english hens, came over sat in my lap and while I was petting her fell asleep.  Lol, I guess he can use a chicken even to teach us a life lesson.

My coop: 6 Silkies, one a partridge roo, 2 buff, 1 black 2 splash hens, 2 Easter Egger hens, 2 Wyandotte hens, and 2 Old English bantam hens, 2 Jersey giant hens

God has used my chickens to teach me lots of lessons too. It is amazing how much you can learn about God

just by watching nature and the organizational structure that is possesses.

Every thing we come in contact with has a lesson to teach.  We simply need to learn to stop and listen to what is being said.

Married to the old dude, 0 human kids, 2 horses, 10 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, 1 sun conure, 1 amazon parrot,  1 eccentric peacock, 1 gsd, 1 pet terrapin, 1 Blue Copper Maran rooster, and 14 world famous Jersey Giants!

Stan the Man will be missed.

Roy, I am amazed at the things God has used to teach me a lesson.  God still uses parables to illistrate spiritual truths, he just speaks them to our hearts:)

Wow, I know. We all feel as if our chickens are our children, right? We (believers in Christ) ARE GOD'S children. Jesus uses many parables(a lot of which include nature) in the gospels to illustrate spiritual truths. I believe God uses little every day things to teach us and show His glory. So guys next time you look outside think of God and all his amazing glory!

Jesus is my Love,my Life, and my Lord.     Psalm 27:1

~ Got Jesus?~                 The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the strong hold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?
