Hi from Big A Chickens

Hi, I am Big A from Georgia.  I have been around chickens pretty much all of my life, but really haven't had any interest in raising chickens until a few months ago when my son wanted to buy some from a local feed store.  Now, I think that I am addicted to them and regret not raising them sooner.  Now I am having the time of my life because they are such marvelous animals!!!

TIME is the best thing to spend on a child!
Always calibrate your hygrometer before you incubate!!

I got my first chickens in late 2009, when I was.... well, pretty mature.  wink.png  It didn't take long before I, too, wondered why I hadn't ever kept chickens before then!  My BP actually dropped enough for my physician to lower my hypertension medication.  It is SO restful to sit and watch them be chickens....  until they do something silly and I laugh with pleasure at the sight(s). 

Better tasting and healthier eggs to eat, no bugs in the yard, no weeds to whack, free fertilizer for the garden and such fun interaction with the flock.  Never in my life would I have imagined each chicken would have its own personality!!

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....
