Hello everyone from So. Cal!

Hi my name is Sheila.  I'm 28 years old and live in the San Diego county.  Also this is my first time owning chickens!  I love them even though they can stink at times tongue.png

I have four awesome chickens/hens right now.  I have a Salmon Faverolles named Chocobo because I'm a huge gamer and when she was a chick she reminded my fiance and I of a chocobo, she's also the smartest hen I have when it comes down to hand feeding them, she knows that the hand isn't scary but has a yummy treat.  I also have a La Fleche name Harbinger, all my hens are about 6 weeks old and she is starting to get her horns in, it's sooo cool!  I think she is the master of the flock right now.  I think I have two Ameraucanas they could be Easter Eggs for all I know, but their personalities are totally different from each other. One is named Skittles because she is the adventurous one, she'll come up to you, then run away, look around, get scared and come running back.  Then the second one which is our biggest girl is named Food, yes it sounds silly, but we like watching Archer on FX and in one episode he calls one of the chickens Food.  She likes to sleep on the food bowl, in the food bowl when she was a chick, thus the name Food was born!

I want to get two more chick later on I'm thinking a buff Silkie and a golden laced Wyandotte later on this year, then when they get big enough introduce them to the rest of the flock.  Hey I live in the suburbs and there's only so many chickens I can have T_T

If I could afford living on a ranch but not in the middle of the US, I would have a whole bunch of chickens!

I just like having the chickens for pest control, eating my weeds, and look at them do their thing.  Having eggs on the side is a plus, there is no way I want to slaugher my hens for actual food.  I'm a bird lover and if I want to eat chicken I'll buy it at the store.

Other than that, I own 6 parakeets and one Black Indian runner, named Onyx.  I'm trying to get into the bird breeding business with the English budgies that I own.  Going to hand raise them, just like what my mom did when I was little with lovebirds and the Australian parakeets 3 years ago and I had to help out on that.

So yeah, that's me and my birds!

My family;

The Chickens: 1 la fleche, 2 amerucanas, 1 salmon faverolle. Harbinger, Skittles, Food, and Chocobo

The Duck: Indian black runner: Onyx

Capt. Jack and the Chicken Nuggets (aka parakeet family): Captain Jack, Elvis, Rex, The bird who shall not be named, because it has no name, Mandala, and Cricket.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
