Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Delawares are great dual-purpose birds if you get good stock. The boys are excellent free-range meat birds,i just put four 16 week olds in the freezer and they averaged 3 1/2# cleaned. The hens are very good layers of large light brown eggs. The best ones I have are from Sandhill Preservation.

one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
