Bad Feeling Tonight

Have a guy that comes into the store every once in awhile. He prefers to come in at late afternoon or even right before we close.

Well he came in tonight. I was alone at the till. One co-worker was also on duty but was elsewhere and no other customers. This guy is a known drug user.

He is walking around the store looking around. I start getting a bad feeling. He is texting things on his phone still walking around and in no better term looking shifty.

He walks over to the rack that holds the DVD's the store rents out.

My co-worker comes from the back and we have several customers come in also. Bad feeling goes away. It was telling me to not be alone around him.

My co-worker comes up next to me and I quietly ask if they have their cell phone, they do. I forgot mine today. Told them about the bad feeling. We both watch this guy closely until he leaves the store after renting some movies.

Only time I have ever felt uneasy in that store.

Should I talk to the owners about this or wait?

I would let them know that you had a bad feeling about the man so they can make everyone aware of him.  No sense in not warning people, and usually when people ignore that "feeling" they live to regret it.

Everyone is aware of him and his drug use. I will talk to everyone though about my bad feeling. Since I work the closing shift I may have more to do with him then the others.

I have heard the stories too.

I know fom experience to "listen" to my "feelings."

I worry a couple of my co-workers will blow me off about him.

IF they do, you have done what you can to warn them.

My motto is this:

Better to be a live chicken than a dead duck.

I keep meaning to stitch that one into a sampler.  Meanwhile, never, ever, ignore your gut feelings no matter what anybody says.

The obscure we understand eventually.
The obvious takes a little longer.

Exactly, never ignore them! Better being forewarned than ignore the warnings.

Definitely tell someone. That's pretty scary.

I completely agree. Unless your gut says to eat a lot of chocolate cake, and you're allergic.

In that case, its best to ignore your gut.

But That's a great motto! big_smile.png

Um-hmm. Right on.

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Talked with my boss yesterday. They said if I get the feeling again let them know. They don't care for this guy either.
