I let my 3 hens and one rooster out this morning, free roam, and one hen is here and 2 hens and a rooster is just gone, iv looked around the house, they have never been 50 feet from the coop. What do i do!

sorry for the circumstances. I would lock up the remaining hen and hope that the others return this evening. I am seriously afraid that there has been a predator attack on your flock.

Hopefully some or all may have escaped and are just hiding. If so, they generally return around dusk. Hopefully that is the case.

thanks for the optimism, my one hen is making alot of noise, does this mean anything?

She may be calling to her flockmates, or the predator may still be in the area and she may be 'alarm calling'. Hopefully it is the former.

Have they ever free ranged before? How long have they been in this coop? I'm asking if they know that the coop is home and how to return to it.

If you have looked everywhere and seen absolutely no sign of attack...not even a single feather, then I'd guess they're hiding and may come home at dusk. Be sure to check in trees at dusk as they could be roosting in them.

dang...i have raised them up from chicks and they are 20 weeks old, still no eggs but all of the hens have been sitting and my rooster was going to be a perfect show roo :(

no signs of attack and they have been in coop for 16 weeks now, they have a pen for when im not home but on sunday i let them out for the past 2 months
