living comfortably, country style

Thread Starter

i just finished talking to a few of my old friends from school, and we had such a good laugh I thought I'd share it with you all,

I was walking around outside without shoes on, and my friend Angela (who lives in the city) thought like it was so controversial. Thinking that was funny enough I told her "You think that's bad? If nobodies over I can't even be bothered to put on pants!" I live with my hubby and my chickens, and I figure none of them would be shocked to see my legs! But she looked at me like I was a womans-lib activist and this was the 50's!

My friend Melissa (from the country-side) agreed with me that it wasn't anything to walk around in your pyjamas in your backyard. I guess living in the country with no neighbors for miles has it's benefits!wink.png

I always thought walking around in your backyard without bottoms was just like wearing a bathing suit, but evidently it's a big society no-no! hu.gif

Where do you all stand on it? I just don't see any sense in getting all dressed up for my chickens!tongue.png

If I can't get my mail in my nightgown without anyone seeing me then I am living way too close to town.  I do wear pants though. Dang those thistles hurt and they are attracted to my legs like magnets.

Mother of 4, teacher of 2,  Raise chickens, ducks, geese, goats and YAY I finally have my dairy cow. I am addicted to finances and getting great deals. I enjoy sharing this with others, especially family. I actually enjoy doing taxes and have taught others to do their own.  I craft a little, sew a little, and read alot.  One upon a time people thought there was a chance I would be meek, quiet,...

I live on a relatively "private" Road with only five homes, but the next door neighbors on either side of me are close enough to see me in my yard. I still go outside in my long T-shirt nightshirts, some just long enough to cover the important bits (which are not my legs lower than mid-thigh).

I'll be 59 in two months, am 5'4" and not tall enough for my weight. If somebody sees anything scandalous, they probably wouldn't brag about it.

The flock doesn't care. Neither do I. I ain't nekkid.

I refuse to fight a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....

I garden naked. I'm not even kidding. I'm not really a nudist either. My husband is convinced that our neighbors have telescopes so they can check me out naked. I told him I'd be sure to give them a great show!

Loving my poultry. Have Guineas as well!
